New player guide

Your first hour.

There's nothing to level here. You start at level 85 and the whole season is about gear, bosses and PvP. This is what to do between logging in and your first fight.

First steps

  1. Pick your class

New characters start at level 85 with free SP and Noblesse. Click the question mark that pops up to take your class transfers, free. When your main class reaches its third class you get its starter kit: upgraded Dynasty armor and weapon, Moirai jewelry, shots and the reagents your skills use.

  2. Open Alt+B

Almost everything happens on the Alt+B board: buffs, teleports, shops, training, the auction house, rankings and the event schedule. You rarely need to walk to an NPC.

  3. Get buffed

Alt+B, Buffer. Every buff at max level, presets for fighters, mages, tanks and archers in PvP and PvE versions, and your own saved sets. Board buffs last 2 hours.

  4. Take free gear

Alt+B, Merchant, Free Gear. Every armor set, weapon and jewelry set below Vesper is free, special abilities included. Trying another class or a subclass costs you nothing.

  5. Try a fight

Alt+B, Training: a 1v1 under Olympiad rules against a bot of any class, from Easy to Master. Good for learning a matchup before it happens for real.

  6. Go out

Alt+B, Teleport takes you to the farming zones, the boss instances and the events. Check what's on tonight on the schedule.

Getting stronger

Gear, enchants and records.

Bosses drop the top gear.

Vesper, Vorpal, Elegia and the top S84 weapons come from instanced bosses only. Armor drops as boxes: when you open one, you pick the slot and the armor type.

Enchants never break.

A failed enchant keeps the item's level; you lose only the scroll. Items go up to +16.

Your progress belongs to the slot.

Every slot remembers its best enchant and attributes. The Attunement Master in Giran raises a new item to your record for free, so upgrading never costs you progress. Attuned items are bound to you; a reset makes them tradeable again at +0.

PvP versions.

Spend Fame once to unlock the PvP version of your chest (20,000) and your weapon (50,000). After that, the Attunement Master turns any weapon or chest in that slot into its PvP version.

Where to fight

Farming, bosses and risk.

Farming zones.

Alt+B, Teleport, Farming zones lists the zones raised to endgame level and what each one drops. Every level 80+ monster drops enchant scrolls and life stones.

Boss instances.

Zaken, Frintezza, Tiat, Freya and the epics, all instanced, with no lockouts. Teleport from Alt+B, Boss instances. Some unlock later in the season.

Skip and PvP keys.

A full run can drop a skip key straight to the boss. Epics can drop a PvP key: opening it lets any group join for ten minutes, and the last group standing fights the boss for triple the jewel chance.

Clans and conquest.

Sieges on Sunday for registered clans, Territory Wars on Saturday for everyone. Clanless? Join the Territory War as a mercenary against the season leader.

Commands

Type these in chat.

CommandWhat it does
.flagAsks first, then flags you for PvP until you turn it off. With your whole party flagged, materials drop 1.5 times as often. You can turn it off after 5 minutes out of combat, or at once in town.
.pkExplains PK mode and asks before you enter it: materials drop 2.5 times as often in the newest armor set, and the gear you wear can drop when another player kills you. Type .pk again in town, out of combat and after 15 minutes, to leave.
/allycrestRegisters your alliance crest, if you lead the alliance. Make one with the banner forge.

Currencies

What you earn.

Fame

From PvP kills, sieges, Territory Wars and events. It stays on your character. It pays for the PvP unlocks, titles and name colours.

Blood Money

Earned alongside Fame and from field raid bosses. It's tradeable and buys enchant scrolls, attribute crystals and more in the Blood Money shop.

Your rating

Every PvP kill moves your public rating. Beating stronger players pays more Fame; picking on weaker ones pays almost nothing.
